Platinum Pursuits

Platinum Pursuits is a financial markets education company, founded by Daniel Kertcher. It's tagline "Trade with knowledge. Trade with confidence." reflects its commitment to teach techniques and strategies for trading the financial markets with confidence. Platinum Pursuits understands that a person who wants to learn how to trade, not only needs to understand a variety of strategies and instruments in order to make the correct decision for themselves, but also needs to be able to access ongoing support to help them put those techniques into practice.

But ultimately, confidence is more than just knowledge. A huge part of successful trading is controlling your emotions. When you are on a winning streak, there is a human tendency to get greedy and not exist a trade when you otherwise should. Alternatively, if you lose money there is a tendency to hang on too long (hoping it will come back) so that you lose more than really necessary. Then there is a tendency to feel angry and fraid of entering new trades. The fact is, successful traders get back into the game by controlling emotions. It helps to think about percentages rather than dollar amounts, so that you remain calm and rational about what's happening in the market and don't make the terrible mistake of spending your gains before you've realized them (commonly known as counting your chickens before they've hatched). Master trader Daniel Kertcher also advises people to think of losses as "donations" back to the market, as it is a natural occurrence to not always read the direction of the market correctly. "Donations" are a part of trading - you can't pick it right all the time! The key is to cut your "donations" short, and let your winners run (while always looking for the signals that indicate when you should get out).

The trick is to create and stick to a trading plan, and be able to assess each trading opportunity with a goal in mind. Platinum Pursuits encourages their clients to do this, and suggests some simple "rules" to follow, at least until the student has had enough trading experience to develop their own rules for themselves to suit their unique situations.
